Instant Messaging Platform WhatsApp brings a host of new features for its Status feature. Presently, users can set pictures, videos and text as Status updates. However, soon you will be able to add your voice notes Finally the messaging app officially announces that it will let users put Voice messages as Status update. Inaddition tothis, WhatsApp has announced five other additions to the Status feature. These features includes private audience selector, status reactions, profile rings, link previews on statuses and more.
WhatsApp new Features to Status Updates
Voice Notes
WhatsApp new Voice Status feature will enable users to record and share voice messages of upto 30 seconds as status updates. Users can record voice notes by tapping the microphone icon on the status screen. This is really a convenient option for those who prefer not to type and add graphics. Last month, WhatsApp tested Voice Status feature with its Android, and iOS beta testers. This is a great way to share personal updates in a more natural and expressive way.
Private Audience Selector
WhatsApp Status Update includes a new “Private Audience Selector” feature. Sometimes the users are not comfortable in sharing their status with everyone. To solve this problem, WhatsApp brings a new feature that provides you a flexibility to update your privacy Settings per status. You have an option to choose who can view your status each time you update it.
Users will be able to see a new audience Selector button that appears on the status screen. This way users can easily control the visibility of their Status Updates.
Status Reactions
WhatsApp is also rolling out a quick and easy way to respond to status updates. Now users can react to the messages using emojis. You can now quickly reply to any status by swiping up and tapping on one of eight emojis. You can of course still reply to a status with text, voice message, stickers and more.
Status Profile Rings for new Status Updates
Just like Status Reactions, WhatsApp has expanded the availability of Status Profile rings to all users. These rings will appear around your Contact’s profile picture when they share a status update just like on Instagram. Status profile rings will be visible in the chat lists, group participant lists and contact info. This feature will never let you miss a status from a loved ones.
Link Previews on Status
WhatsApp has added a new link Preview feature on their WhatsApp Status updates. This will allow the users to showcase a visual preview of their links to Instagram posts or YouTube videos thatthey put on their status. This will make your statuses to look better and get the idea of what the link is about.
The updates have started rolling out globally . All WhatsApp users will be able to access these features in the coming weeks.
